Alfred University Libraries Present Decoding Weather Machine

March 15, 2021 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Alfred University Libraries are happy to present the first film screening associated with the ALA grant, Resilient Communities: Libraries Respond to Climate Change.

The documentary, Decoding the Weather Machine, is available for anyone to stream at this link: streaming link. The film explores the science behind changes in the weather machine, specifically looking at the science behind climate change. The documentary is by NOVA, a science series produced by WGBH Boston that airs on PBS. Please feel free to watch the film at any time before the community panel discussion.

The libraries will host a virtual community panel discussion featuring an interdisciplinary group of Alfred University students and faculty: Dr. Frederic Beaudry, Marianne Chenard, and Dale Mott Slater. The online panel will take place on Zoom, and each panelist will speak about their perspective on themes from the film. This will be followed by a moderated Q & A. Register to join us on March 15, 2021 from 4-5 PM EST here: Registration Form.
