Mission Statement

Alfred’s Public Library is dedicated to the principle that free access to the individual pursuit of knowledge is essential to support democracy.

The Library strives to enhance the quality of life in this small rural area by:

• providing an open and non-judgmental environment in which all people have access to cultural, educational, and recreational resources, programming and services, and
• serving as a center of community interaction.
