SUMMARY:Flight Path Academy
DESCRIPTION:Learn about local bird migration with hands-on activities.  Participants will learn how to identify various birds\, gain an understanding of where our local bird populations migrate to and why. For birds that do not migrate\, participants will learn about various adaptations birds have to help them survive cold winters. Activities in this program are designed for children 6+.  \nParticipants will also hear from members of the Allegany County Bird Club about what the club does\, how young people can get involved\, and learn more about our local birds.

SUMMARY:Flight Path Academy
DESCRIPTION:Learn about local bird migration with hands-on activities.  In this second session of our Flight Path Academy\, participants will learn about ways in which humans impact bird migrations and ways in which we can help keep birds safe. Participants will create window art and will use bird tape to ensure the library windows are safe for migrating birds.  Activities in this program are for children ages 6+.  \nParticipants will hear from Dr. Fred Beaudry\, a professor of Environmental Science at Alfred University.  Dr. Beaudry specializes in bird ecology and conservation.
