1,000 Books Before Kindergarten is a reading program for children under age 5. Studies have shown that the more children read (and are read to), the more ready they are for Kindergarten.
Program Overview
The concept is simple, the rewards are priceless. Read a book (any book) to your newborn, infant, and/or toddler. The goal is to have read 1,000 books before your child starts Kindergarten. (You can repeat books!)
If you read just 1 book a night, you will have read about 365 books in a year, 730 books in two years, and 1,095 books in three years!
How it Works:
– Sign up at the library or on the Google Form.
-The library will provide a keepsake journal for tracking your reading. (Supplies are limited!)
-For every 100 books you read, stop by the library for a prize! We want to celebrate your accomplishment!
You can also download the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten app to track books read!
