Wreath decorating and/or pick up: 10:00am-1:00pm at Union University Church Center.
House Tour: 12:00pm-3:00pm at 56 West University Street, Alfred.
Tickets are $40/each. Available only until Thursday, November 21.
Ticket includes a 24″ Douglas Fir wreath made by East Wind Nursery and admission to Alfred’s Christmas House. You can decorate your wreath with us on Saturday, December 7 from 10:00am-1:00pm at the Union University Church Center. All decorations will be provided as well as refreshments. If you would rather take your wreath home to decorate, request a grab-and-go kit. We’ll provide an assortment of decorations for you to take with you.
Visit Alfred’s historic Christmas House located at 56 West University Street between 12:00pm-3:00pm. Tour this beautiful home decorated with a Christmas tree on every floor. Learn the history and get a glimpse inside this charming Victorian home that is quintessential Alfred.

Q: Do I decorate the wreath and do the house tour on the same day?
A: Yes! Decorate your wreath any time between 10:00am and 1:00pm. And visit the house Christmas House any time between 12:00pm-3:00pm. Finish decorating by 1:00pm, then swing by the Christmas House for your tour!
Q: What if I can’t attend the event to decorate my wreath?
A: Request a “Grab-and-Go” kit on your ticket. We’ll have prepared an assortment of decorations for you to take so you can decorate at home. Decorations will include an assortment of colorful balls, a bow, berries, pine cones, cinnamon sticks, and orange slices. If you initially didn’t request a Grab-and-Go Kit, but realize the day of the event you need one, just let us know! We’ll have supplies on hand to provide you with all the decorations.
Q: What if I don’t want a wreath, and only want to do the house tour?
A: After Thursday, November 21 we will have tickets available for just the house tour. These will be $5/person or $10/family.
Q: What can I expect if I stay to decorate my wreath?
A: We will have an assortment of ornaments available for you to choose from (colorful balls, ribbon and bows, cinnamon sticks, orange slices, berries, etc.). Decorate with friends and neighbors, and get creative! We’ll have refreshments available.
Q: What can I expect at the house tour?
A: When you first arrive, volunteers will provide you with shoe covers and a brief history of the house. Explore the house at your leisure. Volunteers will be on every floor to assist. When you finish, grab some refreshments!
Q: Are children able to attend the house tour?
A: Yes! Children can attend with adult supervision. Please be mindful that this is a person’s home.
Q: What does this fundraiser support?
A: The funds raised will support the library’s operating and programming budgets. That means we can add more library materials and offer more programs!
Q: I can’t make it to the house tour on December 7. Can I go another day?
A: Unfortunately, the tour is only available December 7 between 12:00pm-3:00pm, as this is a currently occupied home. We hope to offer more house tours in the future!
