Once again, the Alfred Box of Books Library will be distributing free eclipse glasses ahead of the April 8, 2024 total solar eclipse. We have a limited supply and will distribute while supplies last.
Limit 1 per person or per family member. (If you’re picking up for your family of 5, you can receive 5 pairs of eclipse glasses- each member of your family does not need to be present.) Please be mindful that the total duration of the eclipse is over 2 hours, so there will be plenty of time to share and view. And during totality you can remove your glasses! For most locations near Alfred, the eclipse will begin at 2:05 PM and totality will happen at 3:19 PM. The eclipse is over around 4:30 PM.
We may further limit the distribution requirements as supplies run low.
